One of the most beautiful and colourful events of the year: Malcesine in Bloom. A true celebration of the arrival of spring and all of the guests who are slowly returning to Italy. Malcesine in Bloom is the event when the garden "padre Mario Casella" is transformed into an open-air nursery, with a flower market and display organised by SGP Events with the support of the Comune di Malcesine local council.
During the three days mark (from 29th april to 1st MaY2023) you have the chance to shop from a vast array of all kinds and colours of flowers and plants. The houses in Malcesine are even more beautiful than usual with balconies and gardens decorated for the festival with a variety of different flowers.
The event features some of the best-known and best-loved plants and flowers, such as azaleas, camellias, rhododendrons, lilies, hydrangeas and petunias. You can find plants of all sizes, large or small, some multi-coloured such as rock trumpet, geraniums and mesembryanthemum, with flowers like brightly coloured daisies. This ground cover creates wonderful carpets of colourful vegetation every spring.
Are you interested in exotic plants? During Malcesine in Bloom, you can buy any of the world’s most beautiful plants such as ginseng, curcuma, sago palms or the highly fragrant bougainvillea or jasmine. These kinds of colourful plants create a wonderful display of nature.
If you are looking for something more elegant, look no further sub-tropical orchids, including the most famous varieties, much-valued by many collectors. Not forgetting the succulents, such as aloe vera and carnivorous plants, as well as leafy plants and the famous lupins. Savour the aromas of the wonderful herb plants that take over the whole of Malcesine: rosemary, savory, thyme and coriander, fresh mint and brightly coloured chili peppers.
